I just wanted to start off saying that I am really gratful to have this
chance to serve a mission. Not because a mission is easy but more
because a mission is hard, it pushes you to do things that you didn´t
think you could do honeslty, you learn more during this time about the
light of Christ and the love he has for you during this time you serve.
It´s one the greatest blessing one person can do during their life out
here. The Lord trust in us, 18,19,20 year olds to preach this amazing
goesple with everyone we can.
As far as this week it
was a little more of a chalenge to say the least, we had to stop
teaching a lot of people because they just didn´t want to message we
have, which was honeslty the sadest thing, during those times I didn´t
feel mad that they didn´t want the message but more sad because they
have a chance to learn about our Savior and our Father and the love they
had for us but just didn´t want it any more.
So
we had to find new people to teach, that means we spent the week
knocking on doors and talking to everyone about our message, and not
having close to any success it weighed on me. Having to train a new
missionary how to be a missionary but not having anyone to teach started
to take it´s toll on me to say the least, I turned to everything i
could think of, studing in the scriptures more, praying more then I have
ever had to just find one person to teach, and it seemed like my prayes
weren´t getting answered which was hard.
Then
we had General Conferance this week which took about all my stress
away, we had a great oportunity to listen to living testimonys of our
Savior and to feel his love. There was one talk that hit me really had
and i have to say was my favorite talk by Elder S. Mark Palmer to sum up
this talk he pretty much talked about love, that´s what struck me the
most. In this talk he said one line that hit me hard, He said because
Jesus loves us, he ask us to do a little more.
We
all have a part to play in the work of teaching the Gospel, weather
it´s serving a mission or showing the love of Christ on the streets when
you see someone having a hard day. As we serve and look for these
oportunities to serve, we don´t only serve others but we will feel more
of the Saviors love.
We didn´t end up finding
this one perfect person to teach last week, but we did teach more people
about the Saviors love then what i thought we could, not everyone is
ready to hear the Gosple at this moment, but we can how the love the
savior has for us at every moment.
I love this
work and I love this Gosple, I love the Book of Mormon, our dear
President Thomos S. Monson talked about the importance of this book in
our lives. This book will bless your life in everything that you need, I
invite everyone to read this book for the first time if you haven´t
done so, and if you have, read it again, you will always find something
new that you need to learn.
