The week of change

Well I guess a lot happenes when you leave for a mission....

First off I would like to start off this email and say congrats to Arrie and Ian on their engagment!!! It was some big news to hear about that and I am very happy for you two. 

As far as the rest of the week things are good. We have a amazing investigator who has a huge desire for change in her life. She´s had it rough, like really rough and one day a friend invited her to our church and we started talking. After getting to know her a little bit we decided to have a lesson with her later that day. After our lesson with her we started to teach her a lot more and last
Saturday we had a baptizem in the ward that we invited her to. 

It was a great baptizem service and the spirt is always strong during a baptizem, so we did what we could and had a quick lesson with her after and had her describe her feelings to us because you could just see the spirt working with her and just testifining that this is the true church. After a great lesson we set a date for her baptizem for this saturday, and she said yes! so if everything goes right we will have a baptizem this saturday and then her kids the next saturday which will be amazing.

As far as the rest of the week things went good, we had a big meeting where we had apostals teach us on Wensday and they pretty much cut out all of our goals and everyone and confused on what we do right now. But that´s missonary work for you, whenever you start to feel confertable with one thing they change everything up on you.

The week of AWW

Man was this week a good week, hard but a good one. We found a really prepared woman this week for us to teach after a long day of struggling. So here´s the story, we started off the day with a way good plan, but sadly one by one every lesson cancled, and nobody was answering their doors when we tried to find someone new to teach, we knocked on a whole street probobly like 50 or so houses and had no results. But we just kept working and kept trying, finally after about 3 hours of this we tried one last street that we´ve knocked on before, and the first house we tried someone finally answered and let us in.

After talking to her for a little we shared a little message about familys and how we can live with our familys for eternity, and she just looked at us the whole time and didn´t say anything so we didn´t really know what to think about her, after closeing with a prayer she finally spoke and said that the night before she prayed to god to send someone to teach her and she knew as soon as we knocked on her door we were the answer to her prayer, my jaw just dropped and i didn´t know what to say honestly. I had to make sure with Elder Menezes after the lesson that i understood her right or if I´m just going crazy with portugues and hearing things. 

On Saturday we went back to her house for a lesson and we taught the restoration of the goesple and the spirt was so strong with this lesson, everything just flowed right and we could see that the sprit had touched her heart, this was a amazing lesson. After the first vision she shared to us a dream that she´s had for a long time where she saw a piller of light in this dream, and then after she saw a book that talked about Christ coming to the Americas and again my jaw just dropped again because she just descriped the book of mormom. One of the best moments on the mission honestly, we have another lesson tuesday so i can´t wait to see what other surprises she has for me that day. 

Then on saturday we had another baptizem!!! I love baptizems becuase the sprit is just so strong and you just feel so happy the whole time, it´s amazing! 

The week of change

This week we had a huge change for missionaries. First off we had to change houses this week.... We went from the first floor of our apartments to the third floor, and we had to change with the guy from the third floor at the same time. It was a pain, we though it would be a good idea to put things outside for a little and let him change into our house, not the best idea because the weather here is crazy. It goes from bright and sunny to raining really fast. All of our desk and books got wet.... But after a long day of moving we got right to work for as long as we could, when we finally got back we all just died and fell right to sleep.

As far as all the other work goes we worked with a member a lot this week named Leonardo, he just joined the church and wants to tell everyone about this goesple and how it can help us, he´s always asking us when is the next day he can be a misionary and how he can help us out more and all that. We are working with his family a lot because he´s the only member in his house and if the plan goes right we are going to baptize his sister saterday and his mom in the upcoming week.

As far as the rest of week we got rained on every day we weren´t expecting rain, when it looked like rain and we had our umbrellas it wouldn´t have a drop. And as soon as we though it wouldn´t rain and it was be buring hot we would walk out of a lesson to water up to our knees, that´s brazil for you though.

Happy new year!!!!

It´s crazy to think that it´s already 2017, time to start a new year with new goals! As far was the work for this week it was a lot differet. We spent the week showing Elder Menzes around the area and trying to find new people to teach, that was a big change. We´ve been trying to work out how to teach because right now we teach so different.

At the same time we had a lot of time to talk this week and find out more about each other and i learned he visits the U.S every year for conferenece. One of the best stories of the week was his first experiance with the sluppie. It was really hot one day and he brought it up so i asked him how he had one, when he was in new york he was at a 7/11 and saw them turning and of course he had to ask what is was, when they told him was it was he decied to try it, and this is how he explaniend it to me after he said it was the nector of the God´s and the best thing he´s ever tasted!!! After that we just talked about sluppies for the next hour.

As far as everything else nothing big is going on. For new years we could hear all the fireworks going on all night but we were dead tiered and just fell alseep at 10:30 and couldn´t stay of for the new year sadly.
